Available from Classic Hand Tools, this beautifully-made Moxon Vice is ready to go straight from the box – no assembly required. Made by Matthew Collins Furniture under the 'Edge Toolworks' brand, Matt runs a successful workshop in Standlake, Oxfordshire, which he set up in 1990.

Matt's team use these vices in their workshop and have done so for some time. Earlier this year, he popped one in the post to Classic Hand Tools and they were so impressed that they asked if he could get the vice into production for them.

Since then, the team have added a custom-made plywood box for shipping to ensure the vice lands on your doorstep in tiptop shape. The box is also very handy for storing the vice when it's not in use.

Simply sit the vice on top of your workbench, position the front of the back jaw so it's ever so slightly proud with the edge of your workbench, then attach using a couple of holdowns or clamps. With the Moxon Vice in place, you can spin the cast wheels with glee and start working at a more convenient height.
