EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: making exhibition quality furniture

In this video, Jeremy Broun shows you how to make an exhibition quality piece of furniture ahead of the deadline for the Alan Peters Online Furniture Award 2021. This is the second video relating to the online award and here, Jeremy makes a plywood stool.

There will be a virtual exhibition of winners and other shortlisted entries, so Jeremy thought it would be helpful to create a video on making a piece that could be entered into this category. It may be useful to those entrants, as guidance in both designing and making, who have not had a formal college training or trained at a furniture school, for example.

Here, Jeremy documents the creation of his piece – mistakes and all. The video serves as a vehicle for highlighting key points and golden rules for creating an exhibition quality piece, and one that would be eligible for the award.

A full article on the creation of the plywood stool will feature in the next issue of The Woodworker & Good Woodworking (Dec 2020/Jan 2021), which is on sale 3 December. If you don't do so already, then why not subscribe to the magzine and receive your copy a week early.
