Issue 267 of Good Woodworking

I thought the lovely people at Bosch were setting me up. Drill through this concrete, they said so, just to show I was game for the joke, I seized my weapon…  and all I had to do was hold it in position – the motor did the rest. Read about the Bosch Blue tools that are being launched in the next few months in my business profile.. I also got up to London, to meet the Makers in Residence at the Building Crafts College who receive what amounts to a year rent free in a fully and expensively equipped workshop in exchange for one day’s technical assistance a week. Not bad, eh!
Dave Roberts set sail for Nelson aficionado David Burton who bought himself a slice of HMS Victory and Michael Huntley builds on last month’s exploration of Japanese influence with a feature on traditions and techniques, and shows us how to make a typical joint. Phil Davy goes back to the 1950s for his retro magazine rack, p71, and alchemist Les Thorne turns wood into metal.  And the King of the Kit looks at a DeWalt drill combo, and Veritas planes. Enjoy.
