Master craftsman retires...

Master craftsman Rob Madeley has retired after 23 years’ service with Shrewsbury-based Morris Joinery.
The well-respected bench joiner used his skills on a range of work from commercial and domestic to refurbishment schemes and special projects.

A popular employee, he was nominated by colleagues in an award scheme to mark Morris & Company’s 150th anniversary. He not only received an award made from English oak by the Joinery Workshop as one of the company’s 150 star performers, he was also hailed as one of ten Morris Superstars. As a result, he now has a star in the constellation named after him.

Rob, said: “I did not expect that. Someone must have thought something of me to put my name forward.”
A married man with three sons, retirement will allow him more time to spend with his family and put his practical skills to use on refurbishment projects at home in Bayston Hill near Shrewsbury. He will also be free to enjoy his motorbike, fishing, walking and other hobbies.

Joinery Manager Matt Tyrrell said: “Rob was a pleasure to work with. He had a wealth of experience and was known for the quality of his work. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
