Compact and powerful: Metabo's new compact drill/screwdriver

Small size combined with powerful performance and plenty of endurance make Metabo's new 10.8 Volt drill/screwdriver a compact multi-talent for universal use

Metabo introduces the most compact drill/screwdriver in the 10.8 Volt class to the market, the new PowerMaxx BS. With the quick change system it is also available as PowerMaxx BS Quick. Including the drill chuck it measures only 162 mm from front to back and is therefore the shortest drill/screwdriver on the market. Compared to his predecessor it has become even more powerful and productive with a torque of up to 34 Nm and a speed of maximum 1,400 rpm. The professional user can enjoy the full benefit of the compact design by removing the drill chuck exposing a magnetic female hexagon socket in the spindle end to take screwdriver bits: The drill/screwdriver measures then only 122 mm and the user can work in even tighter spaces. The compact design also plays a role when it comes to the weight: weighing in at only 800 grammes. Professionals can quickly change from driving in screws and drilling with the PowerMaxx BS Quick. They can change from bit retainer, drill chuck and quick change screw-type angle attachment in an instant, which really helps when working in particularly tight spaces.

More compact, lighter and durable

The Nuertingen power tool manufacturer has significantly reduced the weight and size of the 10.8 Volt drill/screwdrivers in comparison to the previous model, however the battery pack capacity has increased from 1.5 Ah to 2.0 Ah. A useful battery capacity display in the casing of the machine provides an indication of the remaining run time the professional has at his disposal. Whether for woodworking, constructing furniture and kitchens, in the workshop, for interior construction or as assembly screwdriver in the industrial sector, the universal PowerMaxx BS is a compact problem solver ideal for light and medium screwdriving and drilling applications. The tool can drill up to 10 mm diameter in steel and up to 22 mm diameter in wood. 

The angle attachment for the PowerMaxx BS Quick has the smallest corner measurement on the market and can be quickly attached and removed. This permits screwdriving and drilling in tight spaces and corners. Another practical detail is the handy belt hook that can be fixed either on the right or left side without tools, allowing the professional to hook his machine to the belt or trouser pocket. An LED brings light to dark corners and provides targeted illumination of the area where the craftsman screws or drills.

The PowerMaxx BS and the PowerMaxx BS Quick are available without battery pack and charger in a carton box or case as a set with two 2.0 Ah battery packs and charger. Additionally, there is the Quick-Pro version in a case or MetaLoc, which Metabo supplies with a 4.0 Ah battery pack and the screw-type angle attachment in addition to the charger and a 2.0 Ah battery pack.

 

Without drill chuck the PowerMaxx BS measures only 122 mm to the end of the torque adjusting sleeve, but even with the drill chuck in place it's only 162 mm long, and therefore the shortest drill/screwdriver in its performance class.
