MICROJIG's MATCHFIT Dovetail Clamp AP wins international design award

Woodworkers who've seen firsthand how the MATCHFIT Dovetail Clamp AP has changed their workshops recognise what a revolutionary tool it is, and now the rest of the world does, too.

This novel workshop accessory was recently awarded a 2020 GOOD DESIGN® Award, and these recognise the best consumer designs, ranging from 'spoon to city' for sustainability, superior design and unparalleled function. The jury met online in November last year to judge a record number of entries, with more than 900 product designs and graphics from 48 countries deemed worthy of the GOOD DESIGN® mark of excellence.

MICROJIG’s MATCHFIT Dovetail Clamp AP, which allows the use of routed dovetail tracks to create jigs and fixtures with nearly unlimited possibility, took home honours in the tool category. The product features an 8 1/2in clamping capacity and an X-Pad, which allows users to clamp in two directions at once, as well as hold down round stock. An anti-pivot coil spring also holds the arm in place, which allows for repeatable processes to be carried out.

MICROJIG was recognised with a GOOD DESIGN® Award in 2019 for its original Dovetail Clamps, and the Dovetail Clamp AP was awarded a Pro Tool Innovation Award in 2020.
