In this month's Good Woodworking

We're looking at different approaches to woodworking this month ~ an opportunity to think a bit about the future.

There's Mike Sturgeon at one end of the spectrum using a homemade CNC router for his Regency chair project, while at the other end Phil Whitfeld questions the role of technology in craft and Ben Plewes wonders whether his computer is absorbing too much of his designing and making time in Notes From A Small Workshop.

Journeying East ~ and away from power tools altogether ~  Andy King gazes through the looking glass to answer some of the mysteries of Japanese tools. Ultimately we'll be asking, how do Eastern tools compare with Western tools?

There's something for every discipline too, from Back To Basics' look at the fundamentals behind our materials and Richard Maguire's practical cupboard project, to the fine skill of Martin Aplin with his Ercol-style corner cabinet.

It's an issue jam-packed with variety we think you'll find. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!
