The power has been increased from 850 watts to 1000 watts, and the motor now has full wave electronics, which allows better feedback of its speed and a more stable rpm.

 

Ergonomic improvements have also been made to the spindle lock and handles. The spindle lock has been re-engineered and moved to the front of the router, which makes it more accessible for left or right-handed use. The handles now have a soft grip texture for a more comfortable routing experience.

 

A re-design of the base now allows a new low profile dust spout to be fitted from either side, which allows more flexibility for the position of the dust extraction hose. Centre lines have also been added to the base to aid the positioning of the cutter for free-hand drilling applications.

 

As the T5 only weighs 3kg, it is the optimum weight for use on most woodworking operations including mortising, grooving, rebating, profiling, and edge moulding of timbers, man-made boards, plastics, and non-ferrous metals.

 

The T5 comes as standard, with a micro adjustable side fence with adjustable fence cheeks, a 20mm diameter template guide bush, dust spout, fence rods, and a circle cutting device. The kit version also includes an additional 8mm collet and nut set, a fine height adjuster and is supplied in a blow-moulded case.
