Woodturning CONNECT 2023 – biennial exhibition & competitions

The Worshipful Company of Turners’ biennial turning competitions are well established in the City and Craft calendar. The next, upcoming one gives professional woodturners the chance to CONNECT with a London audience and potential buyers in order to get themselves and their work known.

Fresh opportunities in 2023 include a new ‘Master’s Exhibition’ category – by invitation only –and through the designated ‘Coronation’ theme, it'll showcase the UK's finest elite woodturning talent. Curators from the V&A museum in London will also be making a ‘choice’ award from this collection.

The ‘Master’s Mixed Media Competition’ gives woodturners the opportunity to try something new, by merging pewter, leather or both into their work. Experiment with mixing these mediums and and CONNECT with other skilled craftspeople. If you'd like to work with a pewterer or leatherworker, contact Rebecca Baker – [email protected] – who'll make enquiries on your behalf through other Livery Companies.

Finally, there's also the chance for entrants to sell their work to those who're passionate about shopping for beautiful, unique handmade turned pieces. At the competitions, The Worshipful Company of Turners will give potential buyers the chance to CONNECT with various makers, with the possibility of even commissioning a special piece.
