It is widely accepted that the more tasks a tool can perform, the greater the value it has to its user. These new universal and edge clamps from Axminster Trade Clamps are both versatile and valuable additions to the workshop.

Universal clamps help in tricky situations that usually require more specialised clamping solutions. The one-sided frame design solves problems when gluing edging, carcasses, T-joints, corner joints, frames etc. You can apply and tighten them with one hand, leaving your other hand free to hold the work in position.

The Universal clamp comes in two sizes: 10-65mm grip range with jaw depth of 110mm; 10-48mm grip range with jaw depth of 80mm.

Edge clamps perform particularly well when it comes to applying edge mouldings. Again, you can position and tighten them with one hand, leaving your other hand free to hold the work in position. They work equally well on straight, concave and convex curved edges. The cast alloy frame is strong. The light weight is especially good when using a number of clamps around a curved workpiece.

The Edge clamp also comes in two sizes: 10-48mm grip range with a jaw depth of 80mm; 10-80mm grip range with a jaw depth of 110mm.

Both the Universal and the Edge clamps have spring-loaded, eccentric cams that form the jaws and these have a high-friction resilient rubber over-mould. This ensures a firm non-slip grip and prevents damage to the workpiece. As you apply pressure with the handle, the cam jaw grips tighter for an ever firmer hold. A swivelling plastic end cap on the screw protects the work.
